Most of the broadband routers and modem manufacturers allow users to configure the settings of their devices through the web browser running on the computer connected with the device. The user simple has to enter the private IP Address, something like <a href="http://thepcsecurity.com/192-168-1-1-lost-password-how-to-reset-crack-broadband-router-password/"target="_blank"title="192.168.1.1" >192.168.1.1 into the web browser, and the setting page is open asking the user to enter the username and password.

If you are configuring your router for the first time then you are required to enter the <a href="http://defaultpasswords.in/"target="_blank"title="Default Password" >default password and username combination. This default password is configured within the firmware of the device and you can change it as per your liking.

<img class="alignleft" title="Recover BIOS Passwords" src="http://thepcsecurity.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/repair-corrupt-office-2007-files-150x150.png" alt="<strong><strong><strong><strong>Recover BIOS Passwords</strong></strong></strong></strong>” />BIOS <a href="http://thepcsecurity.com/tag/passwords/"title="password" >Password Recovery is something, which many hardware support personnels often encounter in their job. It is very scary for a common computer user to find the dreaded “SYSTEM DISABLE” message staring at him from the computer screen after the three failed attempts to enter the CMOS Password for the BIOS on the motherboardg.

How to Recover Bios Passwords

But here is a simply and easy way to solve the problem. All you have to do is to note down the number displayed, which helps you to recover BIOS Password through some free scripts.

When a laptop is locked with password, a checksum of that password is stored to a sector of the FlashROM – this is a chip on the mainboard of the device which also contains the BIOS and other settings, e.g. memory timings. For most brands, this checksum is displayed after entering an invalid password for the third time.

After noting down the number displayed, head over to this page and download the script related to your make and model of the computer.

Depending on the “format” of the number code/hash (e.g. whether only numbers or both numbers and letters are used, whether it contains dashes, etc.), you need to choose the right script – it is mostly just a matter of trying all of them and finding the one that matches your laptop.

Run the script and enter the number, which you noted from your system. Your bios settings will be easily accessible thereon.

Great <a href="http://thepcsecurity.com/tag/freeware/"title="Freeware" >freeware scripts to recover BIOS Passwords.

Twitter is the second most popular and growing Social Networking site. The growth rate is tremendous and people have started replacing Google...

Twitter is the second most popular and growing Social Networking site. The growth rate is tremendous and people have started replacing Google searches with Twitter searches for getting the latest update about the hot topics.

If you are not on Twitter yet, go ahead and create a Twitter account today.

This post is about how to find your lost or forgotten Twitter <a href="http://thepcsecurity.com/tag/passwords/"title="password" >passwords. The best way is to reset it by going to the official Twitter Resend Password Link given below..

http://twitter.com/account/resend_password

In case, you simply want to recover the twitter password from your web browser files, then there is a tiny <a href="http://thepcsecurity.com/tag/freeware/"title="Freeware" >freeware, known as TwitterPasswordDecryptor, available for free download, which can easily retreive the Twitter password from your web browser files. TwitterPasswordDecryptor automatically crawls through each of these <a href="http://thepcsecurity.com/tag/browsers/"title="" >browsers and instantly recovers all of the stored Twitter passwords.

TwitterPasswordDecryptor presents both GUI interface as well as command line version, the later is more helpful for Penetrationtesters in their work. Apart from normal users who can use it to recover their lost password, it can come in handy for Forensicofficials who can get hold of any stored Twitter account passwords and then use that Twitter profile information to further extend their investigation.

TwitterPasswordDecryptor is fully Portable software which can be directly run anywhere without installing locally. It also comes with Installer for those who wants to install it locally and use it on regular basis. It works on wide range of platforms starting from Windows XP to latest operating system Windows 7.

Use Google search to find the link to TwitterPasswordDecryptor

Here we are presenting some of the popular models of the Huawei Broadband routers and their default router <a href="http://thepcsecurity.com/tag/passwords/"title="password" >passwords including Huawei Echolife Broadband Routers.

Broadband Router manufacturers set a default username and <a href="http://defaultpasswords.in/"target="_blank"title="Default Password" >default password in the firmware of the device, which allows the user to access the settings page of the router, when it is connected to a computer. This default password can easily be changed by the user through a private IP address something like <a href="http://thepcsecurity.com/192-168-1-1-lost-password-how-to-reset-crack-broadband-router-password/"target="_blank"title="192.168.1.1" >192.168.1.1.

PDF is one of the most commonly used format for sending and receiving files on Internet. PDF allows you to protect your documents against misuse by an unauthorized person accessing your document by providing to lock the pdf document with a <a href="http://thepcsecurity.com/tag/passwords/"title="password" >password at the time of creation of the pdf document. This will require the password to be entered at the time of opening or accessing the file.

However in case, you have locked a pdf document with a password and forgotten it, then it becomes a nightmare to access its content. There are pdf password unlocker tools available on Internet, but most of them are paid tools and you can use them only after paying the money.

PDFUnlocker – A Freeware PDF Password Unlocking Tool

PDFUnlocker is a <a href="http://thepcsecurity.com/tag/freeware/"title="Freeware" >freeware tool, which recovers your lost PDF password through brute force technique. You have to provide the expected minimum and maximum length of the password. Then the password unlocking algorithm tries to recover your pdf password by guessing the password and trying them to unlock the pdf file.

A counter at the right side bottom of the GUI tells you the number of attempts taken by the software to recover your password. The unlocked pdf file is saved at a destination provided by you in the interface.

<a href="http://thepcsecurity.com/tag/passwords/"title="password" >Passwords are the keys to your online <a href="http://thepcsecurity.com/tag/privacy/"title="" >privacy and <a href="http://thepcsecurity.com"title="PC Security" >PC Security. Websites and Desktop applications try to hide your passwords from a person looking over your shoulder on your screen, by masking the passwords as you type them in the password field. It is a desirable features and these days, it is a de-facto standard. Almost all websites and desktop applications ensure that your password is hidden and masked behind a series of asterisk as you type your password in the password field.

But there are situations, in which you want that the hidden and masked password is displayed to you. Sometimes it is due to the fact that you might be causing repeated errors in typing the password and the site may block your account after a specified number of wrong attempts. I was also in a similar situation a few days back when I had forgotten a password which was stored in my Password Manager, but I had forgotten it a long back. The Password Manager was auto-filling the password field correctly, but I was not able to know exactly what is my password, as I was not able to see the contents in the password field.

BulletPassView – A Desktop Password Retrieving Utility

NirSoft, a popular developer of <a href="http://thepcsecurity.com/tag/freeware/"title="Freeware" >freeware utilities, has developed a freeware tool for just this situation. BulletsPassView is a password recovery tool that reveals the passwords stored behind the bullets in the standard password text-box of Windows operating system and Internet Explorer Web browser. After revealing the passwords, you can easily copy them to the clipboard or save them into text/html/csv/xml file.

BulletsPassView doesn’t require any installation process or additional dll file. In order to start using it, simply run the executable file – BulletsPassView.exe

When you run BulletsPassView, it makes a first scan to locate passwords text-boxes that are currently on the screen. If it finds any password, it’ll be displayed on the main window. In order to make another scan, simply choose ‘Refresh’ under the view menu or press F5. There is also ‘Auto Refresh’ option under the Options menu. If you turn it on, BulletsPassView will automatically scan for new password text-boxes every few seconds. Be aware that the ‘Auto Refresh’ feature might be slow on some computers, especially if there are many opened windows.

What is 192.168.1.226

192.168.1.226 is one of the Private IP Address out of a pool of designated set of IP Addresses. 192.168.1.226 Private IP Address is often used by the broadband router manufacturers to enable users to access and modify the device settings in the field. The users have to connect the device to a computer and start their favorite web browser. In the address bar of the browser, this default IP address is to be entered, which will open the settings page of the device.

What is a Private Network and Private IP Address

Early network design, when global end-to-end connectivity was envisioned for communications with all Internet hosts, intended that IP addresses be uniquely assigned to a particular computer or device. However, it was found that this was not always necessary as private networks developed and public address space needed to be conserved.

Computers not connected to the Internet, such as factory machines, routers and other networking rquipments that communicate only with each other via TCP/IP, need not have globally-unique IP addresses. Three ranges of IPv4 addresses for private networks have been reserved. These addresses are not routed on the Internet and thus their use need not be coordinated with an IP address registry.

Today, when needed, such private networks typically connect to the Internet through network address translation (NAT).

What is 192.168.1.225

192.168.1.225 is a private IP Address, which is often used by broadband router and modem manufacturers to enable a user to access the device. This IP Address is to be entered in the Address bar of the web browser running on a computer, which is attached to the device. Through this, the user can change the settings of the device as per his requirements and needs.
